Angel With a Harquebus by Pilyeon |
Heart Dice (HD). d6, start with 6 + d6 Heart Points (HP), gaining d6 each level.
Proficiencies. All forms of conventional ranged weapons, bucklers, and textile armour, and one form of conventional melee weapon (pick one) OR one form of unconventional ranged weapon. Wearing anything as heavy/loud as chainmail messes with many of your hunter abilities. You can pick locks and pockets with ease.
in a system without proficiencies, give them the sacred geometry ability from the woodsman at first level. honestly, it wouldn't be ill fitting in the base class anyway
Equipment and skills from your Paradigm. Though, lockpicking and pickpocketing basically count as bonus skills.
A | Mothers Coat
B | Padfoot
C | Cross My Heart
D | ROGUE
Mothers Coat [A]
When cloaked in shadows you are practically invisible until you move or make a sound.
Padfoot [B]
You envied the cats, you mourned your wings. But that was then.
You can perform Feats of Agility (acrobatics, sprinting through a crowd, running on beams, mighty leaps), in exchange for gaining Fatigue. The Fatigue gain replaces any roll you might need to do, unless you’re trying to inflict something on another creature, then you need to make a successful attack.
- Gain 1 to perform any Feat normal human could.
- Gain 2 to perform any Feat a human at their physical peak could.
- Gain 3 to perform any Feat a wild beast could.
Some feats (such as, for example, climbing like a monkey up a sheer cliff face) are not instant and require minutes of effort, at the cost of +1 Fatigue.
Fatigue eats empty inventory slots. If you run out of empty inventory slots, let items fall out of your pack to open up slots or take 1d4 damage. Enjoy hot food and sleep to relieve Fatigue.
Dancing on invisible strings gnaws at the soul. You darling puppet, you will cut yourself loose some day.
Cross My Heart [C]
You really were a nice person once. Maybe. When you backstab a foe, roll all of their HD as damage without any other bonuses. This of course still requires the right tool for the job - a dragon isn’t felled by any mortal blade. You can only do this if catching your opponent unawares, or if they’re fucking terrified - if you didn’t kill them the first time, you’re going to have to wait until they let their guard down again, or you convince them wholeheartedly that they’re about to well and truly die.
design note: because fuck you thats why.
ROGUE [D]
You can run as silently as a mouse and pounce as quietly as a cat. In other words, you can do loud things (running, fighting, breaking stuff) very quietly, and do quiet things (walking, climbing, pulling a knife, rummaging around in a backpack) in absolute silence. Your Mothers Cloak ability no longer requires you to stay still, but still requires silence.
You can leap, run and jump with exceptional agility, leap your own height straight upwards with no preparation and can run while balancing.
Padfoot now allows you to achieve truly insane leaps, and brief moments of running on air. Anything you can balance on holds your weight, including weapons held by others, and take no damage from falling.
Become a dream, float on whispers and weave your heart into a spear and a secret. Steal the dew off of her eyes and replace the hole in your heart with the treasures you find within each droplet.
Fencemaster [Δ]
Steal a capital t Treasure from royalty and sell it to a street urchin
Given a 10 minute conversation with someone, you can convince anyone of the false value of any stolen item. For example, you can convince the king that your knife is worth one thousand armies, or that a gem is worth a penny. This does not change how they will react when they find out your lie (an amount of months equal to your level to untangle), nor what they do when they are convinced (they may atomise the knife down for being so presumptuous, or beat you to steal it for themselves).

Make Your Own!
Equipment. About 6 items. 2-3 defining, 1-2 useful, 1-2 aesthetic or niche. Mix and match or whatever.
Skill. Something Specific
A
drawback and an ability. Feel free to just rip off abilities from
any other glog class, and give it a proportional disadvantage.
Gutter Scum
Equipment. Pick a one handed weapon, grappling hook (20m), tattered hood, lockpicks, caltrops, deck of weight cards
Skill. Underlaw
Attuned. All that time crawling around in the dark finally learnt you something. If you stay perfectly still for a full minute, you can hear the difference between a dark room which is silent and a dark room in which someone is not making a sound.
But you're still a nasty ne-er do well. It's difficult for you to avoid attempting to pilfer something from someone when you meet them for the first time. (SAVE VS DEVICE)
(roll under wisdom or 4-in-6 or whatever, i dont care)
Woodsman
Equipment. A young beast companion OR dowsing branch, pick any ranged weapon, hunting trap OR one handed axe, textile armour (gambeson, thick furs, etc), heavy cloak, thundering horn OR wild mask.
Skill. Tracking
Sacred Geometry. The range of ranged weapons are effectively doubled for you. You can hit much further without suffering disadvantage, and still have a chance of striking true from beyond where any normal archer might.
When hunting in the wild, 1-in-6 chance that you face a BEAST. Triple the rations, but you must succeed on an attack roll vs textile armour or take 1d8 damage.
Cryptsearcher
Equipment. Random scroll (roll once cast), estoc, pole (3m), hammer, pitons, coil of rough rope (20m)
Scrolls (SHIELD, EXPLODE, TELEPORT - pick an entity when the scroll is cast, then roll).
Skill. Architecture
Tomb Robber. Clockwork devices are lovely contraptions; you have a nasty habit of getting tangled in them. You may jam a sprung trap to delay it going off for [hunter levels]d6 rounds. If the trap isn’t disarmed before then, you suffer the consequences.
They're listening. Always listening. SAVE VS DEATH to speak urgently when you're somewhere dangerous (words die like wild doves in your throat if you fail).
(roll under wisdom or 4-in-6 or whatever, i dont care. also this drawback makes more sense with Attuned but shh whatever, its an editing mistake/tonal clash that left them swapped)
or just ROLL FOR IT

Also, start with whatever weapon your extra proficiency was in, OR keep extra proficiency but start with 1. longbow 2. crossbow 3. sling stones 4. javelins 5. swiftbow 6. shurikens
20 of whatever ammo you need, if any. If you don't need any ammo, count yourself lucky.

17. Legend of Zelda/Terraria style bomb
